The machine was not adjusted very well and when vegetables were sliced the machine basically chewed up the veggies after they passed over the blade. The rubber in the stand make it extremely stable to work with, but that is about all I can say nice about the Weston Professional Stainless Steel Mandoline Slicer.For the price, I didn't expect a top of the line mandoline. These usually will set you back a couple hundred bucks, but I at least expected it to be able to slice potatoes as well as my old, fairly broken, PLASTIC mandoline. But no.....it wasn't meant to be. It managed to make a couple very rough, half-hearted wide julienne cuts (I was making french fries) before simply jamming up and then proceeding to tear and grind the potato into unusable chunks.
